Life Ministry

Walk for Life

Every January, thousands gather at the state capitol in Lincoln to show their support for choosing life.  It’s the largest and longest-running demonstration of it’s kind in Nebraska.  For more information about it, please contact Dean Cook or go to the Nebraska Right to Life site.

Supporting Local Organizations

Messiah has had great relationships with some Christian organizations in Lincoln that are more specifically focused on helping women and children.  Many members of the Messiah family volunteer at the Pregnancy Center and we regularly collect diapers to donate to single mothers and we also have an annual collection of baby clothing and other items needed when raising a child.  Christian Heritage is also a partner in ministry with us and we are happy to point people to them if they’re considering helping children through foster care

Life Chain

This annual event encourages those who support life to stand in a public place or along a main street in their community to publicly show the love of Christ through their love and concern for mothers who feel tempted to end their pregnancies.  We pray that God would work in the hearts of all to see the tremendous miracle that every child is.  In Lincoln, supporters gather along O street on the chosen day in October, as others around the country and world are doing the same.  For more information on the Life Chain, use the link above to contact Dean Cook.

40 Days for Life

During the season of Lent, you’re encouraged to spend 40 days, praying for Life.  This national movement also has a kick off event in Lincoln.
